ASTM F136 grade titanium is a particular alloy of titanium that is biocompatible and specifically refined for surgical implant applications.
There are no threads (or screw) in threadless jewelry. The decorative end has a strong pin that protrudes to fit into the post. This pin is bent and the tension caused by the bend of the pin within the post holds the jewelry together.

Loving these gold plated barbells with the elegant chains. I was a bit weary about the size, I normally wear 18mm, but the more snug 14mm size turns out to be a fat better choice. Only finding this out after 11 years 😅 The barbells don’t move any more and thus provide a zero chance of irritation. Can’t wait to order an other design in the future!
